A gorilla named Harambe was shot and killed by Cincinnati Zoo officials on May 28, 2016. The reason? A 3-year-old boy fell into the animal's caged area and his life appeared to be at risk. Harambe became widely known and celebrated as as symbol of resistance against every awful thing or event that happened in 2016.
