Internet Memes and "The Right to Be Forgotten"

This article on NPR was interesting because I never truly realized the amount of hurt and depression that goes on or results from the sharing and posting of memes and videos. I always understood that most who post memes embrace the weirdness and popularity. It was very tragic to learn about stories from the Pringle family, whose daughter who has a disorder that impairs her learning and motor skills, and the fact that so many mocked her smile and kept re-posting. I think memes are okay to make and to post as long as the background information and original storyline is clean, meaning that there is no hurtful intention/background. Memes are supposed to be funny and there is a difference between being mean and being comical. Cyberbullying is a huge issue and memes should not be another way to bully someone.
