Rationale:
I have always been a fan of modern designs. For me, this means angles and lines. In my own version, I wanted to create something with lots of angles and ways to incorporate lines in circular shapes. I did not include serifs, however. Even though I don't mind them, I did not want to work with serifs because I thought that it would take away from the completely straight and angular look I had wanted.
Process:
I started out with a simple font: Avenir. I wanted a thick-to-thin look to the letters so I kept the first part of each of the letter the same as the original. The second part of each letter, as well as the diagonals in the "W," I made thinner. Additionally, each letter has 2-4 lines for the modern look I intended to go for. The hardest part was working with the bowls because I was going for the angular and modern look, while circular shapes are the opposite of straight and angular. However, I managed to still have the thick-to-thin effect while also putting in the lines to go for the angular and lines, as the overall image.
