She++ Documentary

I think the tech industry is exclusive only because of the perceptions society has built. As said in the film, if women were considered at full potential, there would be many more women in the computer science and software engineering industries.

A few quotes really stuck with me because I hope the concepts discussed will impact our current world significantly. One girls said that she was "the only girl in a computer science class at Stanford. The class size was not 20 kids, but rather 100. I felt intimidated but we can fix the gender gap. There is no reason it has to be this way." Another student said, "This is a field everyone can be in while also keeping your other interests too." I liked this because it also implies that with computer science, you can go into any field or any job across the academic spectrum.

While the technology and computer science industries may seem like an exclusive bunch, I perceive them as completely open, despite all the challenges that exist. I agree that we are facing a "Rosie the Riveter" moment because women are starting to become more confident and involved, and gaining a voice.
